AM I A WITCH OR A JEALOUS BITCH?
The phrasing used on the poster pays homage to the ideas that witches
behaved in a cruel way, such as cursing a woman to be unable to bear
children, because she is simply jealous.
Jealousy is a common theme when reading about the history of witches, and is
a common feeling that everyone experiences. But feeling jealous doesn’t
necessarily mean that someone practices magic, and definitively does not
justify being persecuted for doing so.
I distorted an image of Canvoa’s sculpture The Three Graces as it says to
depict the ideal beauty, but at the same time having similar characteristics of
tales of evil witches. The unedited version features in my Zine Three is the Magic Number.
