The footage used in this film was captured at sites of witch persecution that I visited in the Scottish Highlands. I found the spaces especially eerie, and moving.
The audio of the film is a reading of Robert Burns’ Tam O’ Shanter, a story of a man who is chased by witches. Burns lived in Dumfries, the town where I was born, making his poetry feel very personal and special to me.
